Leopard Print Dresses to Impress?
As you all know I have a penchant for leopard print, even my last blog post was dedicated to leopard print and it being the new neutral. However, I’ve decided to be a bit more specific for you and help you find the perfect leopard print dress. Gone are the days where the little black dress ruled the high street and was at the top of everyone’s Christmas party outfit list, now it’s all about the leopard – yeah baby! So how do you find the right dress for you? First think about budget, what you would wear it for and shape. For me, I opted for a double layered maxi dress which has a slip under it, but there are so many different styles around to choose for you’ll be spoilt for choice! Here’s my round-up of the best leopard print dresses on the high street today…
This has to be my favourite but it’s on the pricey side at £189. You would have also seen it from my Instagram feed where one of my client’s tried it during their shopping trip – it looked amazing. Half shirt, half wrap dress – this flattering dress has side tie detailing which is super flattering and perfect if you want to pop a jumper on top and use as a skirt. The shirt top half part is also great and can be unbuttoned to give a dressier and more-saucy feel. I’d recommend some statement earrings to jazz it up even more.
At just £39.99, this dress from Zara is super easy-to-wear. It’s full on shirt dress and has a tie at the waist to cinch you in. I sometimes remove the waist tie if I want to opt for a more casual look, but it looks really good both ways. As it’s cheaper – and we all know Zara – the quality might not be that great, but I’ll definitely last you a season. I would dress up with red high heels and down with white trainers or white ankle boots.
Oh the famous M&S dress! An Instagram sensation in its own right, this dress can be seen on any Instagram fashionista from around the country. At a slightly pricier £59, this dress comes in a ‘tea’ style dress and is quite drapey. It has balloon sleeves and button down detailing at the neckline. This would look good on someone less busty in my opinion. I would also wear this more casually with trainers. Not my favourite but it’s ok.
I LOVE this dress and if I didn’t already have a leopard print dress I would definitely invest in this one (as cheaper than Whistles). It comes in the typical wrap style which is pretty much perfect for all body shapes and sits below the knee. The print itself is lovely and small so not too in your face. I also love the way they have styled it with the roll neck underneath. Dress up with sparkly jewellery and heels.
This is the ultimate leopard print dress this season. Everything about it is just divine (apart from the price) at £295, you’d have to do something really special to get this one for Christmas. I don’t even know why I put it on here but I just love it. Great if you’re under a size 14, this dress is known to come up small, not ideal for ladies with a bigger bust either. Overall I wouldn’t bother, but it’s still pretty to look at.
This is fab. It’s gone down to £26! Yes £26! It has a tulip style skirt which is super flattering, especially for you hourglass ladies out there. The twist detailing is also great for apple and pear shapes as its slight ruching around the middle slims down the tummy. The fabric isn’t brilliant but it’s as you’d expect for the price, it’s more the shape of it that gets my full attention. It’s a thumbs up from me!
